Osamu Dazai, still a new recruit at the time, was tasked with investigating rumors related to a mysterious explosion that decimated part of the city years ago—and its connection to the alleged reappearance of the former boss.
Due to circumstances out of his control, he is partnered with Chuuya Nakahara, the gifted yet impulsive leader of a rival clan known as the ”Sheep,” to uncover the truth behind the case and shine a light on the myth of Arahabaki—the god of fire who might just lead Dazai to the case’s solution.
Meanwhile, in the present day, it is business as usual once again for the Armed Detective Agency. Their peaceful break will not last for long, however, as enemies old and new gather their strength and prepare for another face-off.

Believing in Dazai no matter what situation is the best decision to survive in Bungou world. I don’t care if he’s dying, I know that everything would go as he predicted.
The first three episodes revealed Dazai’s early days in Port Mafia, and how he met Chuuya. The rest continued where it ended from season two, where new troubles arises with the reappearance of Fyodor. For better understanding, watch Bungou Stray Dogs : Dead Apple before season three. It’s the prelude to the arc.
Season three give us a lot of new information, the few that I like include:
– how Chuuya come to exist. It always made me wonder, why Chuuya can use Corruption, which is an ugrade of his ability while others don’t. Now that it’s all out, I just wonder why nobody worship that man. He’s literally a god. Hmm. Most likely nobody bother about his backstory, so it remain untold to majority.

– what Atsushi’s headmaster actually think about him. This contradict my point, but I hate, really, really hate this reveal. It made me furious, to know that Atsushi spent his life believing his headmaster hate him, and traumatised him for life, and we spent two seasons hating this man, just to be inform that he actually did it all for love. You freaking kidding me now? How do I feel about this?

– how Armed Detective Agency, Port Mafia and the Special Operations Division are the essential organizations that keep Yokohama safe, and how without either one of them, there will be hole on the defence of their beloved city. I always think Port Mafia and Agency are each other’s enemy, and that Fukuzawa and Mori hate each other. But they are kind of in a truce.

– how there’s fight between Ranpo and Chuuya, but they didn’t show it. They entered a book due to Poe’s ability. It might be a boring case to Ranpo, but I’m willing to see a frustrated Chuuya trying to deal with the situation.

– how the twists of finding Pushkin and Fyodor blown my mind. In Dazai we believed, and he successfully caught Fyodor by the end of the series. I already knew he will, so it’s the process I’m interested in. Proud to say that I’m not disappointed at all.

While there’s not so much character improvement happening on the main characters, the Guild experience changes. Poe become a good acquaintance of Ranpo and Agency, and Lucy work at the café below Agency’s office. Seeing them on the good side give me a good feeling. Francis amuses me, because he learn how to live without luxury, but it’s scary how fast he built his name again. I’m afraid of his mind.
Overall, it’s a satisfying season. I would like to have more, but this will make me content for a good while.
